without a trace

Do you remember learning how to write?  How letters and numbers are formed – the process?

trace. trace. trace.

Follow the guide…over and over and over.

Eventually, letters are formed!

Just think…if there was no guide, no pattern to follow, no direction, would you have been able to learn to write?

Without a trace…

Living our lives as fully devoted followers of Christ, we have a Guide, a Pattern, Someone to follow – to show us how to live our lives.  His name is Jesus.

Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.  – John 5:19

We follow the Guide…over and over and over.  We learn from Him.  He has set the path, made the way clear.

Without a trace…

As with learning to write, if we did not have an example to follow, a Guide, would we be able to live as fully devoted followers of Christ?

Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. – Ephesians 5:1-2

We need that example.  We have to follow Him.  We have to trace His steps.  We have to do what He did, love as he loved, walk as He walked, speak as He spoke…

Without a trace, we would be lost.

We don’t yet see things clearly. We’re squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won’t be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We’ll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing him directly just as he knows us! – 1 Corinthians 13:12 (MSG)

Trace His steps.  Let Him be your Guide.

The possibilities are endless!
