It’s ‘that’ time of year again…new beginnings, new goals, new plans.

But, is it all with the same old mindset?  Are our intentions good, our goal setting done in earnest, our plans bold and full of purpose, but somewhere, either deep down or sitting right on the surface, do we think that we’ll just end up like we do every other year?  Empty, heavier, with more baggage, defeated…
Does it have to be that way?  Can’t this time be different?
Forget about what’s happened;    don’t keep going over old history. Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new.    It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it? There it is! I’m making a road through the desert… ~Isaiah 43:18-19 (MSG)
Can’t God conquer all of that?  Do we believe that He can?
Will ‘it’ happen overnight?  No.
Will ‘it’ take effort and work on our part? Absolutely.
Will we be doing ‘it’ on our own?  That, my friends, is where the difference in years past lies…at least with me.  This year, at least this day, ‘I’ don’t want to do it…’I’ can’t.  But…with God, all things are possible!
The difference lies in our acceptance of our limitations and God’s boundless grace, and our laying down our wavering intentions and picking up His courageous resolve.
Starting from scratch, he made the entire human race and made the earth hospitable, with plenty of time and space for living so we could seek after God, and not just grope around in the dark but actually find him. He doesn’t play hide-and-seek with us. He’s not remote; he’s near. We live and move in him, can’t get away from him! ~Acts 17:27-28 (MSG)
We can’t escape Him!
This year, this month, this day, this minute, this second, let’s embrace Jesus…and resolve to walk each moment of each day in His strength.
